The Canon PIXMA PGI-9 Clear Ink Cartridge is a specialized consumable used to enable Canon's proprietary Pigment Reaction (PgR) technology. Before standard LUCIA pigment color inks hit the paper, the printer applies a thin coat of this clear reactor ink across the entire plain paper surface. This chemical reaction locks the pigment inks tightly to the surface layer, resulting in exceptionally sharp text, vibrant images, and high smudge resistance.
